Decathlon is a family-owned company, founded in 1976, and inspired by the belief that the best sports products should be accessible to everyone. We are an international sports retailer with over 2 000 stores and ecommerce activities in 78 countries.
We’re unique because we have our own in-house brands. We create, design and manufacture our own products in our own studios and labs. Currently, we have 61 Decathlon brands, each dedicated to a specific sport or practice. Our team is dedicated to helping, inspiring and guiding you through your sports experiences. Decathlon opened its first store in Bratislava and started e-commerce in Slovakia in 2015. Today, our 520 teammates are active in 13 Decathlon stores and e-commerce is a strategic business unit in our local company.
Job Overview:
As a Business Lawyer you will work in our Legal department very closely with our Service team and Retail team.
As our newest teammate, you’ll play important role on the field of our legal strategy, driving compliance across labor law, commercial ventures, and real estate transactions while identifying and mitigating potential risks. Your expert legal guidance will shape the decisions that power our daily operations, ensuring smooth, secure, and efficient business flow.
Job description
👉 Advise, support, secure and defend
- Supporting different team members from the beginning of the project by creating innovative legal solutions including day-to-day legal advisory
- Identifying risks and opportunities, analyzing them, evaluating them in relation to business strategies and legal feasibility (risk mapping)
- Anticipating and following legislative and local company processes
- Informing and, if necessary, alerting team members concerned and following up on alerts
- Cooperating in the implementation of actions needed
- Drafting and controlling contracts adapted to Decathlon's projects and interests (including subsequent management and archiving of contracts)
- Drafting and maintaining internal company guidelines and corporate legal documents
- Implementing actions within Group Compliance area
- Creating and running training courses and processes to meet the company's challenges
- Communication with state authorities and supporting company within state inspections
👉 Develop legal cooperation
- Cooperating in the implementation and success of digital tools and/or processes that promote the secure autonomy of team members and guarantee their updating and relevance
- Building and leading an internal and external network
👉 Maintain and develop own legal expertise
- Being actively aware of legal and business environment
- Updating technical skills, soft skills and expertise

Requirements on candidates
Experience: This role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position.
Education
University - II. degree in Law (preferable from Slovak public university)
Language skills
- Slovak language - expert (C2)
- English language - advanced (C1)
Personal prerequisites and skills
- High level of responsibility and precision
- Attention to details and being demanding
- Moral and ethical thinking
- Good interpersonal skills (interact with colleagues from different departments)
- Good communication skills (both in oral and writing)
- Active listener and learner
- IT skills - MS Office
- Practice in a legal firm is an advantage but not a requirement
- Driving license B is an advantage but not a requirement

💶 SALARY
Entry salary: 1950€ / month
We reevaluate the entry salary to ensure it reflects your experience and expertise, offering a package that’s as competitive as your talent.
